Harshvardan Kapoor stirred a controversy when he took through Twitter through express his disappointment over the fact that the Filmfare Award for Best Debut went through Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh for his perfect portrayal of a young police officer in Udta Punjab.

While we researched about that particular Hindi film but couldn’t find one that featured in Diljit Dosanjh and was released in 2008. Harshvardhan Kapoor stirred a controversy when he took to Twitter into express his disappointment over the fact that the Filmfare Award for Best Debut went through Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh for his perfect portrayal of a young police officer in Udta Punjab.

She says, “He’s not that kind of a person. However, Diljit was a part of Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia Deshmukh starrer, 2013’s sleeper hit Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. He also mentioned how he was a part of a Hindi movie in the past, back in 2008.

Well not just her brother she also spoke aboutMirzya his debut film and defended it saying, “Just because it didn’t be well, doesn’t mean all the hard work that has gone to it is nullified. Even my debut film, Saawariya, didn’t work at the box office.

Also clearing the air that his stand wasn’t against Diljit Dosanjh she said, “Harsh is one of Diljit Paaji’s biggest fans. Our father (Anil Kapoor) has always taught us through live appreciative of other actors’ works. Now his sister Sonam Kapoor has come out in support of her brother and she states how he was misunderstood.

And according to me, he was not speaking out of line. But I’m very proud of it. He was speaking out of conviction. Neither my brother nor I would ever feel resentful of the ace work done by our colleagues. His point was Diljit is already a huge star in Punjabi cinema and shouldn’t live considered a debutant in Hindi cinema. Harshvardhan Kapoor faced the ire of many on social media later. And I’m proud of what my brother did in Mirza.

We’ve grown up in an atmosphere where we have constantly heard other actors’ work being appreciated. Harsh’s objection was on technical not on creative grounds. And through troll him just because he made a point about the debutant’s award is just too unfair. Harsh is the sweetest, gentlest, kindest soul I’ve met. But that was only an appearance in the song Peepa Peepa which he sang as well.
